Happy 20th Anniversary to Twenty Five Company!

Twenty Five Company, once known as Marin Tile Supply, Inc, began 20 years ago!

It’s been a wild ride, and we want to take a moment to appreciate you, our team, and everyone else who has been part of our journey. Starting a small, family-owned business is no easy task, but it is rewarding to help homeowners bring their dream home to life. We’ve been fortunate to have clients that love to work with us for quality products and exceptional service. As we excitedly celebrate 20 years in the business serving Marin County, we wanted to take you on a journey a few decades back and share how Twenty Five Company began and how we’ve evolved through the years.

From Humble Beginnings

My husband, Tony, was heavily involved in tile installation long before deciding to start his own business, but one day in 2002, he decided to go for it. With a drive to provide quality tile and outstanding customer service, he created Marin Tile Supply, Inc.

Starting as a one-person show, Tony did it all, but through years of hard work, the company grew and became too much to do on his own. Wanting to spend time with my young kids, I quit my teaching job and began taking on more duties at Marin Tile Supply, Inc.

As years went on, we didn’t want to just sell tiles anymore. We wanted to bring other aspects of remodeling and new construction into the business so we could be a one-stop shop. We wanted to simplify the experience for busy homeowners, designers, contractors, and architects. So, we rebranded as Twenty Five Company, the company you know today.

Now, as the owner, I oversee all aspects of Twenty Five Company while Tony oversees his own tile installation company.

Obstacles Along the Way

With 20 years in the business, it’d be wrong to not share the struggles we faced along the way because there were many. But, we wanted to share the two that hit us the hardest and made us rethink and evolve our business.

    1. In 2008, we experienced the economic recession in full force. Small businesses around us were closing down, and we were frightened, wondering if we would be next. At this point, we also had other team members’ livelihoods to think about too.
    2. In 2020, the pandemic caused a worldwide supply shortage and changed the way we worked. From new safety measures to how we interacted with vendors and clients, it changed everything – fast.

Each struggle has been a learning experience where we honed in on how to serve our clients and community better. Even through the most challenging times, our client—focused service remained the same.

By putting our clients first and providing unwavering quality customer experience, we found new ways to serve our client’s needs better and continue helping homeowners build their dream spaces.

And Here We Are Today

If you told me twenty years ago how our company would be today, I’d say you were lying. 

Now, Twenty Five Company holds more quality products than ever, including tile, plumbing fixtures, setting materials, shower doors, and even turf. We also design and sell custom cabinetry so you can transform your kitchen or bathroom space.

Chosen with great care, each product you see in our showroom is from companies and suppliers that value our clients as much as we do. 

With many great products to choose from, we wanted to ensure our clients had the best shopping experience without feeling overwhelmed, confused, or bored. 

With intentional planning and curation, we created a showroom as unique as our clients with optimal organization and easy-to-navigate rooms to see, feel, and test materials that will be a part of their home. 

What Twenty Five Company is today certainly wouldn’t be possible without a great team.

We cannot believe it has been 20 years! It has been quite an accomplishment. Despite the economy and hardships, we’ve built a solid team and persevered together.

We are happy to say that we have the best, most cohesive staff we’ve ever had. We will continue providing exceptional design and customer service, allowing us to grow within the last 20 years.

We are thankful for every year we are in business and able to serve Marin County community and beyond.

In this coming year alone, there are so many exciting updates at Twenty Five Company. With new products and showroom displays, we are always finding new ways to serve you better.
